Resolve “Error-123 not an HFS volume” efficiently!
Hierarchical File System or HFS has been launched by Apple in order to easily work with newly developed 20MB hard disk.HFS has been replaced with MFS that were earlier original file system of Macintosh operating system. In this new HFS there are many advanced features available that can be accessed easily.
But sometimes the stored data in it becomes inaccessible so it becomes important to use data recovery software for efficient recovery of lost data. While accessing Mac operating system you may come across the error message like : “-123 wrgVolTypErr Not an HFS volume [wrong volume type error or (obsolete) operation not supported for MFS]”
From this error message it could be understood that the problem is related to file system of Mac. The files system is responsible for storing and managing the hard drive and in case any corruption and error occurs in it then it will be of great problem. As the stored files becomes inaccessible of particular volume. Here some possible reason for data loss may be virus attack, malfunctioning of application and operating system crash etc.
So at this time you can use the inbuilt utility of Mac that is Disk Utility, this will be helpful in checking the disk integrity and tries to repair damage. In case disk utility does not work then you can go for fsck utility, this will check the file system at startup and then repairs damage. But in case both the inbuilt utility does not work then you can use the updated backup to restore the deleted data back to system. But in case the backup is not available then recovery or restoration of data becomes difficult.
So it is important to go for third party software known as stellar data recovery software . This software has been especially designed to resolve the problem related of Mac operating system. It has powerful algorithm that perform advanced scanning of the hard disk and then restore the data if it is deleted and makes the data accessible again if has been inaccessible.
